Unwind from the stresses of modern life.
Canals are Britain at its quietest and most laid-back. 2000 miles of waterways with their own history, culture, architecture and people - as different as any far-off place.
It's a destination. A linear destination, with endless ways to explore and enjoy leisure time on the water and canalside.
Hiring a narrowboat is one way to go, then there are canoes, coracles, bikes, canalside camping, hotels, B&Bs, waterside inns, historic rental cottages, working volunteer holidays and loads more inventive ways to enjoy a special break - or simply pull on your boots and go for a walk.
